It turns out a lot of Vanguard devs lost their jobs

In all, 14 developers lost their jobs, only a little bit more personnel than the cleaning crew I mentioned yesterday. I totally called that one and did a wonderful job using my defunct brain when some resources are no longer needed because those same resources are already in San Diego. Real smooth thinking there. One of the developers who was let go is the lead developer on the diplomacy sphere. SOE has pretty much wilted Vanguard’s development team into a skeleton crew. On the other hand, if it wasn’t for SOE stepping in and saving Vanguard who knows where it would be now, maybe on some flash drive in Brad’s side pocket inside his straight jacket.

Take me to your leader, words form Thom Terrazas aka PhAtHoM

Introduction to PhAtHoM

Hey all!

My name is Thom Terrazas and I just recently joined the Vanguard Team in full capacity. I haven’t played Vanguard as much as I should but I am about to change that and this is where you come into play if you don’t mind helping a newbie out?

I’ve usually chosen the path of a Paladin in previous games and have played a few levels of various characters on Vanguard so far but I haven’t made up my mind on which to play solely. I’m thinking about going back to my roots to start a new Paladin again but thought I would check with the community about what you thought would be the best character to play and why?

Alrighty then. I see some statements that Vanguard should have relaunched, I don’t think so. Yea, it would be nice, but I think for Vanguard wouldn’t see more than 250k subs even if it was solid on release, the intellectual property is standard generic fantasy. Sigil had several years to work on the lore/backstory, but who knows what happened with it. I’m sure it’s a lot better now, some Vanguard players are raving about the new update and seeing improvements with their performance.
