This could turn it around for Vanguard
Vanguard’s Carlsbad Headquarters is being abandoned and the Vanguard team is being absorbed into SOE’s lofty San Diego Campus. As a result several employees will not be staying with the company and fraternizing in an unemployment line instead. The statement is vague so it’s possible these employees are developers but more than likely it’s the cleaning crew. The big news is that Thom Terrazas will take the helm and lead Vanguard into the future, wherever that may lead. I’m not sure if this is a promotion or if he is in trouble with his bosses! Nevertheless, his SOE blood runs deep, very deep and Vanguard could probably use some SOE royalty to whip Vanguard into SOE shape… I laughed. You and I both saw this coming after the take over and the lease ran out. It makes no sense to keep the Vanguard team in Carlsbad if they can spare the space in San Diego.
Moby Games lookup on Terrazas’ impressive workmanship:

Holy SOE toast. That’s a lot. I wonder what improvements Vanguard needs the most. Any takers?

So…you don’t think SOE has single-handedly destroyed several MMORPGs. Namely, EQ2, Planetside, and Star Wars Galaxies?
Not Vanguard. Sigil was responsible for that. SOE saved it. SWG, yes. EQ2, at launch yes, I think the game is a lot better 3 years later, but I still think the combat sucks. I like Planetside more than Tabula Rasa.
