Station All-Access-Pass sale ending soon
Can you spare an extra five? Go on, check your already picked pockets or they won’t let you login if you don’t cough it up. I blame the administration – Smedley is spending too much cabbage and the all-access-pass subscribers are stuck with the rising tab.
Important information regarding your Station Access subscription
We want to give you some important information regarding your Station Access subscription. Effective April 2, 2007, the new monthly subscription rate will be US$29.99 per month (not including applicable taxes).
We know that rate adjustments are never popular, but the increase is driven by our desire to provide our Station Access subscribers with a consistently high quality entertainment experience, as evidenced by our most recent addition to the Station Access subscription plan, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes™.
You don’t have to do a thing; you will automatically be migrated to the new monthly subscription rate under your existing subscription plan when your current subscription plan comes up for renewal on or after April 2, 2007. We appreciate your support and continued participation in our community.
Station Access subscriptions are recurring, meaning you will continue to be billed at the appropriate subscription interval, until you affirmatively cancel your subscription. Subscription fees are subject to tax and value-added tax, as applicable. The subscription charges are in addition to the cost of the games that are part of the Station Access subscription plan. All game software is sold separately.
Hold on a minute, I disagree with giving Vanguard a shiny high quality glad to have you sticker, whoever wrote that or was forced into submission by whomever to lie and write it is a dumb ass. You would have to put me in a headlock and kick me in my elephantine balls to tell such a sordid lie. Another possibility looming on the horizon is SOE crowbarring other “high quality” mmogs into the pass, this means other price hikes should be expected and that means the all access pass needs to change to a pick and choose your own price package like other entertainment services employ.
Thirty smackers is very affordable price for entertainment if you can manage a healthy dose of three mmogs a month; however, if you only play two a month the pass isn’t a great bargain. If you need the additional functionality and additions (extra compartments) for EverQuest II the pass might be appealing if you play one other mmog and indulge in the occasional add. Otherwise you can subscribe to two mmogs separately via a multi-month subscription and shred more greenbacks and log on both mmogs at the same time; making that path a tad more affordable and lucrative than the all access pass and probably giving your choice, that specific mmog’s development team, more money than what they receive from your all-access-pass subscription.
This price increase is another bad business move on SOE’s part. It will only drive all-access-pass subscribers into canceling; EQ, EQII, Vanguard are different in their own right, but they provide similar fantasy (diku) loot and scoot experiences. Most players who primarily play one over the other will stick with their favorite. I’m also disgruntled SOE still doesn’t offer some type of family account, I play WoW with my sister and brother-in-law, and they would like to play EverQuest II, especially after they saw me gliding around on my Fae, but they aren’t agog on adding another thirty dollar chunk onto their monthly mmog costs.
