I didn't rail on him, and his jab about EverQuest II and Fileplanet wasn't that bad at all. Auto Assault has been all over Fileplanet the last 6 months and they’ve advertised with Penny Arcade as well. Fileplanet is just another great outlet for game companies to get low cost trials if not free on the desktops of players and I think that’s a good thing. What’s wrong with that? Gabe and Tycho are so rich they could give two shits I guess and compare it to like giving free batteries away out of Radio Shack. I actually like the comic you know, relates more to my humor most of the time compared to a lot of other web comics out there. I don't even play EverQuest II and it's been a long since I've played it, so it's not like I'm some butt hurt fanboi. We definitely need some better game review sites out there, I think it's easier to help form an opinion from someone that you sort of get to know over the internet, they share their personality and you can kind of be like, well I know how this person is and I can somewhat trust their opinion when in comparison to some random foozle writing reviews for IGN that I don’t know. I think more game journalists should probably start telling how long they played the game for, 15 minute reviews for the most part are bullshit and you can always tell a lot of these reviewers are doing a shitty job. I want to know how long the reviewer played the game they are reviewing and more of them should probably start blogging at random so they can build up more of a following and build their online personality. I actually do use their comments as reviews for games I'm interested in, combined with comments from a handful of other bloggers. I don't take these comments as absolute truth, but they are more helpful to me in figuring out if a game will be fun than the standard review from IGN or Gamespot, etc. Should also note that I generally agree more often with Tycho's comments than Gabe's.
